Why is Agriculture Literacy Important?

Despite being our state's largest industry and biggest economic contributor, students know very little pertaining to agriculture, where their food comes from or the farmers that make three meals a day possible. Agriculture-focused curriculum provides interactive and hands-on STEM activities, helps prepare students for the workforce and makes children more aware of how the world works around them.

How Will the Give to Grow Campaign Help?

In 2018, the Georgia legislature made history by passing the "Georgia Agricultural Education Act" which established the first elementary school agriculture programs in the nation. Twenty-six schools have been chosen to be a part of a pilot program. In order for these pilot programs to be successful, they need your help! While the bill officially established the programs, they are in dire need of funding to get them off the ground. Donations through the Give to Grow campaign will be distributed equally among schools in the pilot so they can purchase the resources they need to introduce young children to our state's most important industry.
